Lost?

Did you think I stopped blogging? I did for a week or 2! Its been crazy hot which means we stay inside all day and dont do much and I try not to turn on the oven. We also had back to school stuff to get done, and I am happy to report that Zander loves kinder, says he has fun everyday when I pick him up. We were kind of worried about if he was ready or not. Madden on the other hand cries every morning when I drop the kids off saying "I'm gonna miss my brother!" "I wanna go with him!" they had some fun bonding time this summer!! So in the afternoons the boys are at their usual running around and playing with each other.
We have also had a ton of birthdays, sick kids, sick mom, almost broken nose, record heat of 104, early mornings, tired afternoons, pretty much the usual stuff! Man I can't wait for fall!! And our trip to Utah in November, I sure could use some Cooler weather! I need to bake again!! And the garden is dying, sad but true, still getting some tomatoes and have a ton basil but everything else is fried, looking forward to trying a fall/winter garden. Well the kids are going crazy and hanging all over me so I'm going to go make some waffles for dinner.

Surprise!!

What a crazy fun weekend! Justin's Brother Ryan surprised the whole family by flying in Steve and Jenn from Georgia. He wanted us all to go over Saturday for a party and he kept saying he had a big surprise for us, well he did! I think we were all in shock to see them! We haven't seen them since last summer, it was so good to see them and Maddie!
The Horton Boys
Steve and Jenn were only in town for a day so we had everyone come over for a big pancake breakfast, a tradition in the Horton family. Madden was helping with the pancake batter.
Cousins!!! Were just missing Maddox and Molly!!
Madden wasn't to sure about being on top!
To add to the crazy part, Friday night Annayse got sick and was throwing up every hour until 4am, so Justin and I were pretty tired Saturday, but it all worked out and she was able to hang out with us on Sunday. I'm glad it was just something she ate because she loves playing with her cousins and we all enjoy hanging out and playing(loud) games with the family!!

Tomato Brie and Basil Tart

I just took some pie crust, pressed it Into a tart pan, bake in 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes. After you take the pie crust out and let it cool for a bit, brush some dijon mustard over the crust and then layer some tomato slices and thin slices of Brie cheese, sprinkle some fresh chopped basil over and bake for 15 minutes or until melted and bubbly.

Justins Birthday

I just figured out how to blog from my iPad!! I had to get an app for it, duh! And i got the attachment to upload pictures from my SD card. This thing is so awesome!!
Anyways this week has been pretty busy, we had Justins birthday, the older you get the less exciting it gets, we just had dinner and I made him a cake.
We are also getting ready and excited for school. Got Zander registered for kinder, kinda sad and exciting at the same time. I have a ton of recipes to post to!!
Except now I noticed that the picture are not uploading!! Still need to work on this!!

Our Weekend

We had a fun crazy busy weekend, well actually it was all on Saturday!! The kids and I headed out to the Farmers Market in the big city, there's is so much cooler then ours in the small city. They hold it at the old Pearl brewer, Texas is cool like that where we reuse things, like our quarry's, we turn them in to shopping centers when there done blasting out rocks. That's where I got the olive tepenade and cheddar bread, so delicious I ave to find a recipe for it, I could eat it by the spoon full. Also got a nice watermelon that Madden carried for us!
Then I took the kids to the park that was close by. Then we went to the grocery store, that where we saw the fish eating the other fish, the boys thought that was the coolest thing ever!! I actually had the good camera with me so I snapped a picture. Next we went home to clean up the house and get ready to go to our neighbourhood summer party, it was okay I didn't know anyone except a girl that used to babysit Zander while I went to the doctor with Madden. The kids had a blast though, even though it was 100 degrees out side!!! So that was our crazy busy day, I gave the kids baths and put them in bed!! I then made brownies, just because. And Justin? Where was he this whole day?? Oh he was at a friends house gaming all day, they all got that new dumb game and they hadn't seen each other to play in years so it was okay, I guess. He had fun with his friends. And we had fun running all over the place and getting cool food!!
Oh! The picture of A holding the cantaloupe is from my garden not the farmers market, its as big has her head!! The tomatoes are mine to, finally getting some good ones now that I got rid of the horn bugs!
There was also an old train and stable in that area so we stopped to look at them as well as the little water feature.
