Recovering

What a week! And this darn keyboard sticks and only gets every
other letter, which is driving me nuts!!!
Annalyse had her tonsils shrunk yesterday, instead of taking them out they use this wand that has high radio frequency's that make the tissue shrink up, much better then taking them out. The poor girl had huge tonsils! They almost touched! I hope now she will be able to sleep better, and not so much snoring. So we are just hanging out to day watching way to much Hannah Montana eating Popsicles and donuts.

I also just got my truck out of the shop, Justin hit a deer in it last week, or actually the deer hit the side of us! That is the second time he has hit an animal in my truck!!! I think I should not let him drive it anymore! Sorry Love!
I am sorry about the lack of posts, I think it is only going to get worse as the belly gets bigger and I get more uncomfortably and tired, but I am going to try not to forget to post here and there. I have so many things to post about but seem to run out of steam by the end of the day. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Honey Oatmeal bread

I Love this bread, so much more flavor then plain white and more fiber.
We made this a lot at the bakery it is one of the best sellers, but at $4 a loaf I'll just make it my self. And share with you!

Honey Oatmeal Bread

1 cup oats, uncooked
1 Tablespoon butter or vgitable oil
2 cups hot water
1 package active dry yeast
2 teaspoons salt
1 egg, beaten
About 5 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup warm water
1/3 cup honey
extra oatmeal for coating

Put the oats in a large bowl. Bring 2 cups water to a boil; pour over the oats and let stand for at least 15 minutes
Stir the yeast into 1/4 cup of war waterand let stand for 5 minutes to dissolve.
Feel the oats at the bottom of the bowl to be sure they are warm. Add honey, butter, salt, egg and yeast mixture .
Mix well, slowly add the flour a 1/2 cup at a time until the dough clings to the dough hook on your machine(or you could kneed by hand). Kneed for 5 min. in the machine and 10 by hand.
Place in a well oiled bowl, cover with a towel and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in bulk.
Punch down, divide in two if you want two smller loaves or leave together for one large. Place in oiled pans and let rise for 30-40 minutes until it reaches just over the top of the pan. Brush with a little egg wash and sprinkle with some oatmeal, bake at 350 degrees for 40-60 minutes(depending on what size you made). Or until they are dark golden brown and sound hollow when you tap it with a butter knife.

I made one of them plain and the other one I put some chopped up apple, raisins and cinamon suger in , I just kind of kneeded it in and shapped it and put it in the pan. It came out good, I had bought some at Whole Foods a week ago and have been wanting some more! It makes awesome toast in the mornings!

Still have a lot of sewing to do, and we just got a deep freezer so I want to start to fill that with some meals to eat after babe gets here, Justin also needs to get another Deer, that last us a long time and we use it in everything. Plus its low fat!

So lots of projects to do on top of many I already have ! I did get the kids bedrooms cleaned out of some toys and old clothes so I got that checked off, I still need to paint the dressers and get Z's room ready for his brother and all of his soon to be stuff. I could go on but that would bore you. I get to meet up with a friend and talk about the shower we are going to throw for another friend! FUN STUFF! And then I think I might head over to Target for some much needed shopping! So good bye meesy house I will get to you later!

Scientest of the Week

Every week in Annalyse's class a child gets to take the scientest backpack home, pick an experiment to do, do it and then show it to the class. She picked one where you take soda color it a little and put some salt in it and it goes all over the place! She loved it,and she looks so darn cute in the outfit they get to ware while doing it. Her teacher was out sick on Friday when she was sopposed to show it to the class and she didn't get to do it and came home crying because she had waited all week to show her class, well today is the day and I hope she remembers what to do, we went over it again this morning so I think she will be fine!
On another note about A is she came into my room one night and told me she didn't want to go to school anymore, so I told her fine you can stay home with me all day and I will teach you! She said thats okay I Think I will go to school tomorrow! I don't know what it s with her but she thinks I don't know anything! Mom doesn't know how to do it right so She will wait to ask dad!!! She is doing great in school and reading super well so I am not to worried about her learning yet!

The play dough worked keeping Z busy so I coud make these birp rags, so soft on one side cool on the other. I made 2 of each pattern. Now he can spit up in style!

I made these for a friend who is due a month befor me in April, she is having a little girl so I can make all the cute things for her.
I made this little frog for A's teacher, there class are the frogs. We are going to give it to her for V Day. She is missing some eyes, I didn't have any to give her.
And then I made these cute little onsies for the baby, I have always wanted to to do these! I will probably do some more but with animal shapes.
I hope ya'll had a good productive Monday, I sure did and it feels good to get things done for once!

Play Dough

This recipe came from my very first cookbook I got when I was about 9? I loved it and made quite a few things from it, one of which was this Play Dough. My kids love play dough and will play with it for hours and I don't mind to much, they do make a mess but if you just let it dry you can sweep it right up! So I made some for Z today so I can do some sewing! I have about 1-2 hours!

Play Dough

1 cup white flour
1/4 cup salt
1 tablespoon vegitable oil
2 tablespoons cream of tartar
2 teaspoons food coloring
1 cup water

1. Mix flour, salt and cream of tarter in a medium pot.
2. Add water, food coloring and oil.
3. Stir over medium heat for 3-5 minutes. Dont worry if the mixture looks like a globby mess; it will turn into dough!
4. When the mixture forms a ball in the center of the pot turn off the stove and let cool. Then take it out of the pot and kneed it on the counter for a few minutes until you have a nice ball of dough!
When you finished make sure to put it in an air tight container or plastic baggie for next time.
